But Monterey Jack interrupts them with a harsh dose of reality - Marshal Jove, the Royals' top bounty hunter, is on his way. Scottish Mel was supposed to find a lifeboat for them all to escape in, but he can't since the Tub is unsinkable and the ships' designers decided to put the lifeboat space to good use as more shuffleboard courts.

Luckily for the quartet, but a little too convieniently for anyone who's a stickler for solid narrative structure based on a believable progression of characters and events, Mel turns out to be a former Royal Dairy Air Force Top Gun pilot who is extremely proficient with the special four-seater training variant fighter plane that sits on the Tub's promenade deck as a reminder of her glorious past as an aircraft carrier.

Naturally, a hair-raising dogfight ensues with the gallant Scottish Mel eventually besting Marshal Jove and his fellow pilot. But as Mel, John, Jack and Glenda roar into the sunset, with nary a look in the rear-view mirror, a tiny dot appears behind them - it's Jove's parachute.

The chase will begin again.
